And So It Begins…
Hi everyone! Well, when I say everyone, more accurately welcome to the one person who has mistakenly stumbled onto this blog. Before starting any proper content, I thought it would be a good idea to let you all know what sort of blog this is going to be.
So yeah, hi. I am Robbie, a media graduate who at the moment has way too much free time on his hands. From an early age, I have been told that I seem to have an opinion on a quite worrying amount of Video Games and Films, and if I am being honest every year since my late teens I have considered making a blog like this. Now the time has come to actually do it!
In terms of the posts I will be making, it will mostly be reviews and opinion pieces on Video Games, which is my favourite medium, and something I have been in love with since my Dad try to explain to 3 year old me how to play Halo: Combat Evolved (as you may have guessed, I wasn’t very good).
Very close behind are Films, which I do plan to write about but this shall not be as frequent. There may also be the odd TV post every now and then but if I’m being honest, I am about 3 years behind on all the latest shows and most of them pass me by. However, if you are a Breaking Bad universe fanatic, know that I too worship at the altar of Vince Gilligan, and will definitely be writing lots about that universe at some point in the near future.
In terms of what is coming up directly, I thought I would kick thing of by writing about what I know best - the Halo franchise. I am going to be replaying each of the mainline Halo campaigns in their chronological order and giving my thoughts on them, reminiscing about the hundreds of hours I’ve spent/wasted on each of these games, and I may rank them all at the end.
As well as that, I will be writing other pieces about various different games, and potentially covering pop culture news if it interests me. I am not interested in covering trends for the sake of it and lots of my content probably isn’t going to show up well for SEO optimisation, but that is not the point here.
Finally, to anyone who does read this and is interested about writing, I would love some constructive feedback if you felt so inclined to do so regarding my writing style. Barring essay writing, the odd attempt at film reviews, and writing a short film script, I am completely new to all this so I am sure there will be a lot of things I need to improve on, so would be happy to receive feedback on my work.
